The first honor flight of 2023 will take off from CVG tomorrow, with three others planned throughout the year.

Honor flights offer veterans age 65+, who served stateside or overseas, flights to their memorials in Washington, D.C., at no cost.

All veterans traveling on this flight are from the Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and southeastern Indiana area.

The trip will include visits to the World War II Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, Iwo Jima, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the US Air Force Memorial, and other Washington, D.C. sights.

At 5:45 a.m., the send-off ceremony will commence with bagpipes from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department and special remarks.

The return flight will land around 8:45 p.m., and members of the public are invited to attend the welcome home celebration at 9 p.m. at the welcome point in the terminal.

The next Honor Flight is scheduled for May 23, 2023. Two additional flights in 2023 will be announced at a later date.
