The City of Covington’s Adopt-A-Spot program will host a party to highlight current volunteer efforts and recruit new volunteers this Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Mac’s Pizza Pub on Main Street.

The program recruits volunteers who then pick a spot, corner, block or median in the city to keep clean by picking up litter, pulling weeds and engaging in other beautification upkeep.

“Volunteers identify what ‘spot’ they want to adopt and decide what work they want to do there, how often they want to work, and when,” Sheila Fields, Solid Waste & Recycling Manager for the City of Covington, said in release. “That’s what makes participation so easy.”

The party will feature light refreshments, games for all ages, a raffle with locally-donated prizes as well as some tips and advice about tending adopted spots.

Guests are asked to RSVP at the party’s Eventbrite page. For more information about the Adopt-A-Spot program or any of the beautification efforts happening in the city, visit Keep Covington Beautiful’s website.
