Covington Police are asking the public to help them locate a vehicle involved in the crash that led a semi-truck hauling thousands of gallons of gasoline to flip on its side near the Brent Spence Bridge on Saturday night.

The crash closed Interstate 71/75 in both directions for several hours late Saturday and early Sunday.

“The driver of the truck sustained injuries as a result of the collision,” police said in a post shared Tuesday.

The post shows a dark blue Dodge Charger with dark tinted windows pull in front of the semi, which led to the accident. Police said the car is a 2011 or newer model.

“The vehicle will have passenger-side damage and may also have front-end damage,” the post said. “Officers are seeking any information as to the whereabouts of the vehicle and driver.”

Anyone with information about the car or driver is asked to contact Sgt. Rogers in the Traffic Unit at 859-292-2254.
