Burger Week is here.
The weeklong celebration of the American classic is happening July 11 through 17, features $7 burgers at more than 50 local restaurants, and rewards participants with points via the new Burger Week app.
Participants wanting to earn points toward Burger Week must download the Burger Week App. Donors must check in at a Hoxworth site at the time of donation and snap a photo via the Burger Week app to earn points.
This year, participants can earn an additional 150 points by making a blood or platelet donation.
Publisher for CityBeat Tony Frank said he is excited to be partnered with Hoxworth Blood Center to help increase blood donations in the community.
“Enjoying burgers and saving lives is something I think we can all get behind,” Frank said.
Donors throughout the week will also receive a limited-edition Hoxworth beach towel and an entry into a drawing to win a $35,000 custom MINI Cooper from Cincinnati MINI. Additionally, those who donate platelets from July 11 through 13 will receive a free burger coupon from Gold Star Chili.
“The summer months have always been a difficult time for blood banks nationwide,” spokesperson for Hoxworth Blood Center Jackie Marschall said. “We hope that collaborating for one of Cincinnati’s most engaging summertime events will encourage the community to roll up a sleeve and save a life.”
