KOI Superior Walls, a company that manufactures precast concrete walls for residential and commercial foundations, is set to open a new facility in Boone County.

The manufacturing facility will include approximately 38,000 square feet of production space and 6,000 square feet of office space. The project is expected to create 73 full-time jobs, according to a press release from the governor’s office. The positions will cover manufacturing roles, sales, design, administration and management. KOI Superior Walls expects to begin full operations in late 2025.

“We could not have the tremendous economic success we’ve had during this administration without our expansive manufacturing network,” Gov. Andy Beshear said in a press release. “KOI Superior Walls is a new and welcome addition to our manufacturing sector, and the company’s commitment to future growth will further strengthen Kentucky’s economy for years to come. I want to thank KOI’s leadership and look forward to seeing their success here in the commonwealth.”

KOI primarily manufactures precast concrete products for storm sewers, sanitary sewers and other underground utility projects throughout the Greater Cincinnati area.

“We are excited to begin manufacturing Superior Walls in Northern Kentucky,” KOI Superior Walls President Ross Votel said in the release. “This innovative product offers significant benefits to the home-building process and an improved foundation in new homes. Our new facility will allow us to combine our decades of precast concrete manufacturing experience with this revolutionary system to grow into the future.”

Superior Walls of America Ltd. was founded in 1981 by home-builder Mel Zimmerman. The company began operating in Boone County in 1987.
