In a message posted on the company’s Facebook page, Grippo’s announced the recall of all its potato chip varieties after shavings of metal were found inside one of its machines:

Grippo fans….
During a routine inspection, metal shavings were found in our salt hopper. In light of this we have issued a voluntary recall of our potato chips as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the public. This effects our bagged chips with an expiration date of May 20 or before and our 1.5# boxes with an expiration date of April 29 or before. If you have purchased these products, you can return them to the place of purchase for a refund.

This effects ONLY our potato chips.

Pretzels, popcorn, pork rinds, spice shakers, sauce and any other snack items are NOT effected by the recall.

The Company appreciates the support it has received.

The issues have been corrected. We are currently producing fresh product. Look for your favorite Grippo products soon!

Again, we sincerely appreciate your business and loyalty.

Thank you,
The Grippo Family

Grippo’s is a popular local maker of chips based in the Cincinnati suburb of Colerain Township. The varieties affected include plain, barbecue, cheddar cheese/jalapeno, hot dill pickle, sweet bermuda onion, and salt & vinegar.
