For the first time since we launched the LINK nky Team of the Week program, we are honoring two teams in the same week.

This week’s poll saw the highest number of votes split between multiple teams since the launch of the program.

Our Teams of the Week are the Pendleton County High School boys bowling team and the Lloyd Memorial High School football team.

The Pendleton County boys bowling team was nominated after picking up wins over Bishop Brossart and Scott. The Wildcats have been to the state tournament three consecutive years.

The Lloyd Juggernauts made it to the Kentucky Class 2A semifinals for the first time in nearly twenty years.

Though Lloyd was eliminated on Friday by state championship game-bound Beechwood, the Juggernauts are recognized for their historic season.

Congratulations to our other nominees, as well: the NKU men’s basketball team for its first-ever victory over Cincinnati, and the Beechwood Tigers football team, who will likely see themselves nominated again after advancing to the state title game in Class 2A.

Our weekly honor is open to all local sports teams at all levels, from youth to recreational to high school to college to pro and beyond.

At the beginning of the week, we open the nomination form, and then start the voting mid-week, with the winner announced later in the week. To nominate a team for a performance during the week of November 21 – 27, click here.
