A 20-year-old Florence man is recovering after he was shot in the leg while inside his car Wednesday afternoon, according to the Florence Police Department.

Police arrested 20-year-old Kylar R. Adams of Florence late Wednesday and charged him with wanton endangerment and assault.

Officers were called to the Weaver Farm Apartments around 4:45 p.m. and found the man in the passenger seat of a vehicle, police said.

“The victim reported that he and an acquaintance were sitting in their vehicle when another vehicle pulled up behind them,” said Det. Keith Guidice in a press release. “The occupants of that vehicle hollered something at them and then started shooting at them.”

The assailants fired several rounds at the victim’s vehicle and then fled the scene, police said.

“The victim sustained a single gunshot wound to the leg,” the press release said. “He is currently being treated at University of Cincinnati Hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. No one else was injured during the incident.”

Police are investigating, but said a preliminary investigation indicates that the incident is isolated.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Florence Police Department at 859-647-5420.
