Senate President Robert Stivers (R-Manchester) and Senate leadership announced 2023-24 Senate Majority Caucus member committee assignments on Monday.

Senator-elect Shelley Funke Frommeyer (R-Alexandria) will serve as a member of the Senate Economic Development, Tourism and Labor; Health Services; Education; Capital Projects and Bond Oversight; and Appropriations and Revenue committees.

She will also serve on the Capital Planning Advisory Board and the Budget Review Subcommittee on General Government, Finance and Public Protection.

“I am pleased with the diversity of thought and professional intellect we have in the Senate Majority Caucus,” Stivers said following committee roster announcements. “We have physicians, lawyers, educators, small businesses owners, and more prepared to stay the course of good policy this chamber has prioritized and championed for two decades. I have the utmost faith in our chamber’s committee leadership.”

Frommeyer has a background in finance  as a Certified Financial Planner.

“I am incredibly honored that leadership has chosen me to serve on the committees they selected, and that they have faith in my ability to add a new perspective to the upcoming discussions during the 2023 session,” Frommeyer said. “I am excited to represent my constituents in the 24th district and look forward to getting started on January 3.”

Frommeyer was just recently elected to serve the 24th district upon Senator Wil Schroder’s retirement at the end of the year. She will be sworn in at the start of the 2023 regular session.

Standing Committee assignments are not final until the Senate Committee on Committees makes a formal vote. The Committee on Committees membership comprises both Senate majority and minority caucus members. Committee appointments are subject to change.
